Stunning Cat Portraits You Thought Weren’t Possible
Cat Portrait Sessions
Think your cat can’t be photographed? You’re not the only one. Cats are curious, independent, and often a little unpredictable. That is exactly why I love working with them. I’ve heard it all: “What if they hide?” “What if they walk away?” “What if they’re just not in the mood?” The truth is, those things might happen, and that is completely fine.
My sessions are calm, flexible, and shaped entirely around your cat’s personality. Whether they are playful, cautious, or happiest curled up in their favorite spot, I take the time to meet them where they are. No pressure. No forced poses. Just patience, trust, and a space where they can be themselves.
With years of experience and multiple international awards for cat photography, I’ve learned how to capture portraits that feel genuine and personal. The kind that show your cat just as they are, and help you remember them exactly that way.

Yes, Even Your Shy Cat Can Do This
You don’t need a bold, outgoing cat to get beautiful portraits. Some of my favorite sessions have been with cats who needed a little extra time and space. I never rush, and I never expect your cat to perform. We go at their pace, always with gentleness and respect. Whether they’re curious right away or take a while to warm up, we’ll create something special — together.

Outdoor Cat Sessions in San Diego
Not every cat is suited for the great outdoors, but some absolutely love it. If you have an adventurous feline who’s comfortable on a harness and enjoys exploring, an outdoor session might be the perfect fit. San Diego has some beautiful, quiet spots that work wonderfully for confident cats. These sessions are slow, relaxed, and always focused on your cat’s comfort and safety. I’ll guide the session gently while your cat does what they do best: explore, climb, pose when they feel like it, and show off a little.

What Our Cat Lovers Say
Hear from our satisfied customers who have experienced the quality and value of our products and services.
We’re so happy with Kat’s work! We wanted professional, high-quality portraits of our two cats, and that’s exactly what we got. Kat clearly knows what she’s doing and took the time to make sure our boys felt comfortable. Having her bring the studio to our home made the whole experience so much easier.

Cats aren’t the easiest photography clients and that’s exactly why I love working with them. Over the years, I’ve photographed countless cats of all personalities, from bold explorers to quiet observers, and I’ve learned how to meet each one on their terms.
I’ve also been lucky enough to earn a few awards along the way, including Cat Photographer of the Year (twice!). But what matters most to me is creating a space where your cat feels comfortable, and capturing portraits that feel real, relaxed, and true to who they are.
Questions from Curious Cat Parents
Absolutely! Capturing the bond between you and your cat is one of my favorite parts of the session. Whether it’s a gentle cuddle or a shared look, these interactions make for meaningful images.
That’s completely okay. I approach each session with patience and respect for your cat’s comfort. We’ll go at their pace, allowing them to get used to me and the camera. Many shy cats warm up with a little time, and some of the most heartfelt portraits come from these quiet moments.
No matter I much I love cats and want to pet them (because I really, really do want to pet them) I don’t handle your cat; only you do. This is another factor that helps to keep stress at bay. As my lovely assistant, you’ll help keep your cat comfortable and relaxed while I work my magic.
Yes, I do. If you have more than one feline friend, we can plan the session to include all of them. We’ll discuss their personalities during our consultation to ensure a smooth experience for everyone.
That’s perfectly normal. Cats are naturally curious and may not pose on command. I work with their natural behaviors, capturing candid moments that showcase their true personalities.
Choose a quiet, comfortable space where your cat feels at ease. Having their favorite toys or blankets nearby can help. We’ll discuss specific preparations during our pre-session consultation.
Yes, for cats who are comfortable on a harness and enjoy the outdoors, we can plan a safe and controlled outdoor session. We’ll choose a quiet location and ensure your cat’s safety throughout.
Yes! Since I don’t handle the cats, your role is to assist by keeping your kitty happy, entertained, and stress-free. Don’t worry, this mainly involves playing with them and offering comfort.
Shedding is normal, and Photoshop can take care of loose hairs. If your cat was shaved before the session and its fur has uneven patches, I’ll retouch those areas to ensure your cat looks their best. Other imperfections like eye boogers, drool, etc. will be edited out as well.
A cat’s personality includes their quirks, and I embrace that! No matter how shy or uncooperative they might seem, I have plenty of tricks to photograph even the most reluctant feline.
Whether your cat is curious and confident or shy and slow to warm up, we’ll create something beautiful together. If you’re wondering whether this could work for your cat — let’s talk.
